Church Job Description: Church Property
Manager
Overview
The Church Property Manager oversees all building and grounds management
for the Church and Parish House, doing some hands-on light maintenance/repairs
as well as managing relationships with contractors, cleaning services and
vendors. He/she makes sure the building
is well prepared for worship services and other activities of the church.
Responsibilities
- Oversee repair
and maintenance of the grounds, building and its systems, including but
not limited to:
- Interior/exterior maintenance, light repairs and
project management for larger projects
- Plumbing, heating, electrical, other infrastructure
maintenance
- Trash removal
- Regular cleaning and quarterly floor waxing/carpet
cleaning
- Landscaping and snow removal.
- Pest inspections, Safety inspections (fire,
elevator, food service)
- Ensure that the
building is in good order for scheduled worship services and other church
activities:
- Monitor church calendar and set up rooms
for meetings and events, as needed.
- Secure parking
lot entrances
- Remove snow
from entryways prior to 8AM on church service days and 9AM weekdays
- Sweep outside
steps and ramp weekly
- Monitor
lighting and replace light bulbs as needed
- Maintain
adequate church paper and cleaning supplies.
- Perform
additional cleaning, as needed, to supplement cleaning service following
major events.
- Perform regular
inspections on all areas of the building.

Manage relationships
with contractors, cleaning services and vendors

Manage the property
budget expenditures and provide property
expense input during the annual
budget process
Skills
and Aptitudes Required
- Communicate and
interact respectfully and effectively with the Pastor, Church Staff,
volunteers, members, etc.
- Perform small
repair jobs, as needed.
- Operate electric
or gas driven tools such as floor cleaning equipment, vacuum cleaner, snow
blower, power tools.
- Work
independently and efficiently.
Working
Conditions
- 25-30 hours per week. Actual hours and schedule will be determined
by mutual agreement.
- Flexibility to
work outside of normal scheduled hours to accommodate meetings, functions
and emergencies.
- Work will be
performed inside and outside.

Compensation: $18.00/hour
Supervisory
Responsibility: Direct outside contractors and service companies
